Responsibilities
Prepares, leads and communicates the analysis of manufacturing performance and/or metrics; includes
monthly/quarterly business reviews, annual budget, 6+6/forecast and any other strategic business requirements.
Support Manufacturing for forecast/budget of cost center expenses, capital & headcount. Ensure requirements are understood and that submittals and timelines met.
Perform analysis on spending & absorption, purchase price variance, work orders, inventory driven costs (scrap, E&O, cycle count, etc.) for the monthly scorecard & plant package.
Performs other month-end close and reporting duties (accruals, cost center reclasses, etc.)
Support allocation process across all Manufacturing sites ensuring Managers/Directors align on allocations.
Performs WIP aging and analyze scrap working with Manufacturing, QA & Planning.
Support Plant Managers to identify and drive cost reductions and gross margin improvements.
Partners with Manufacturing & Finance on key projects as requested (i.e., excess & obsolete, scrap initiatives) to understand how costs are impacted.
Prepares return on investment analysis for capital requests and new product introductions.
Prepares quarterly work papers for internal and external audit.
Supports the annual Standard Cost and Tier 1 MDG approvals. Ensures Plant Managers & Controller
understand the costing data (labor, material, ovhd, costing lost size) for multiple locations.
Work with Engineering to review BOM and Router changes
Develops the labor and overhead rates and support mtl burden analysis.
Coordinates with North America cost accounting team to implement best practices.
Qualifications
You must be engaged, flexible, and have the ability to build relationships with internal/external customers and finance/non-finance business partners. We are looking for someone with strong analytics and attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Other Equivalent.
Ability to effectively communicate with peers across various site functions and with higher level
management.
Ability to work in cross-functional and remote teams.
5+ years experience in cost accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to translate GAAP terms to non-accounting partners and sound understanding of financial statement mechanics in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on; must have a willingness to become involved in the details of the operations to ensure accurate information is provided to the business partners.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
MS Office Software, including strong Excel skills.
Desired: SAP experience.
