About this Opportunity Assist the global Legal Leadership team in executing and providing proactive strategies and services in areas such as corporate and commercial matters, including dealer/distribution, procurement, technology and supply arrangements, among others. The candidate will provide support on securities, M&A, equity issues, and will assist with other matters related to the Americas business as needed (e.g., compliance or employment).

Actively manage expectations and cost of outside legal counsel relationships/panels.
Develop and demonstrate requisite knowledge and experience by acting independently in most legal areas, with occasional guidance from general counsel.
Establish a positive working relationship with the business leaders and other functional groups.
Negotiating, writing and executing agreements and contracts on behalf of the company
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Provide support for M&A transactions, including deal structure and LOI terms, planning and assisting in due diligence, drafting and negotiating deal agreements, and actively managing deal process and execution.
Provide support on real estate, corporate, commercial and other transactions and special projects.
Providing training to the company on legal topics
Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company
Stay up-to-date and keep Legal team advised on external governance trends, SEC and NASDAQ issues, general legal issues and best practices.
Support the stock administration department on equity and employee benefits matters.
Working proactively in support of other departments within the company

License to practice law with 5+ years in the practice of law, with an emphasis on any of the following: commercial, corporate, manufacturing, or consumer business. Req.
License to practice in any state. Req.
Demonstrated level of expertise and interest in a broad range of legal areas.
Expert ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
Ability to be viewed as a value added business member by all business leads and their work teams and be acknowledged and accepted as a subject matter leader.
Demonstrated ability to work with and manage highly confidential information.
Demonstrated leadership competence as defined in MillerKnoll’s Leadership Skills and Abilities.
Easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions.
Demonstrated expert written/verbal communication skills, and a proven capability to present complex concepts in a concise and understandable way to a variety of audiences within the organization.
Strong business acumen, ability to navigate ambiguity, strategic thinking, exceptional communications and ability to work in a matrixed environment is required.
