Apex has an opportunity for a Director of Application Development to join our team in a fast paced Financial Services industry client on an exciting project!

Position: Director, Application Development
Location: Miami, FL (Hybrid onsite, Remote considered)
Rate: Negotiable based on experience
Duration: 6 Mo. + (right to hire)

Position Description:

We’re looking for a senior software engineering leader to work on the modernization and optimization of web-based applications.

The candidate will have 10+ years leading up software engineering teams in a hands-on capacity with significant experience devoted to ensuring the smooth operations of mission critical high fidelity systems, comfort with leading-up technical scrums, oversight of the entire SDLC process, and attention to exacting detail with a relentless commitment to continuous operations and design improvement.

Additionally, the candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the various engineering PODs, and to oversee the day-to-day operations of the QE and execution delivery. These leaders will be accountable to the Appdev CIO and Servicing Engineering Director Leadership for all of the various project deliverables assigned to the Delivery PODs, and engineering teams.

The candidate will manage a cross-functional team of technical staff in the Miami-based location and will work across geographies in the coordination, delivery, and execution of product, systems, and technology that demand 24/7 support.

Requirements:
* 10+ years of software development experience within an enterprise environment (preferably in .Net stack)
* 3+ years of experience as a Solution Architect.
* Proven experience working within a “service oriented” or “Micro-service” based architecture
* Effective ability to communicate complex ideas / concepts
* Strong organizational and leadership skills
* Strong understanding of design patterns and when best to apply them
* Experience with Domain Driven Design
* Experience working within an “Agile” development process
* Ability to take high level requirements and provide working solutions
* Proficiency in UML and building design artifacts.

Responsibilities:
* Provide mentorship to less experienced developers
* Work with key team members to shape the direction of future state platform
* Provide analysis and status to key project stakeholders
* Participate in Code / Design review process
* Work with development teams to craft paths forward and eliminate roadblocks
* Work side by side with the team

Pluses:
* Experience with .net core
* Experience with Angular, React, or Vue
* Experience in the consumer lending industry
* Machine learning experience

Must have Skills:
– 10+ years of experience
– 10+ years of software development experience within an enterprise environment (preferably in .Net stack)
– 3+ years of experience as a Solution Architect.

Nice to have Skills:
– Experience with .net core
– Experience with Angular, React, or Vue

Location:
Onsite at MIAMI in the Brickell neighborhood – Hybrid Model (3 days per week)
Open to remote candidates but the preference is for the candidate to be onsite
