Position Title
Advanced Engineering Manager
Basic Function
Directs and coordinates activities of the cross-functional engineering domain to design, manufacture, and test electronic components, products, and systems either personally or through subordinates.
Accountabilities
As a Engineering Manager, this role will require approximately 70% technical development and 30% resource management
The technical responsibilities of the job are to develop advanced engineering products that are related to the vision and sensing domain. These products include, but not limited to, WiFi camera product, machine vision algorithm development, other camera techonologies (thermal, ToF, etc.), and can extend to radar, lidar, and artificial intelligence algorithm development.
The candidate will work closely work with our product planning group to execute and influence the company technology roadmap development, customer funded advanced engineering projects, and lead advanced engineering RFI/RFQ activities.
Management duties will require tasking and coordination of cross-discipline engineering teams coordinated with the advanced engineering and production engineering resource managers. The manager is responsible for assessing staffing needs, current as well as projected and working with the respective group manager to address those needs.
He/she will also be responsible for supporting recruitment activities including the creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.
He/she will work with Engineering Management to establish program and functional goals as well as performing performance evaluations and merit adjustments for each subordinate.
Responsibilities include supervision which includes career development recommendations, mentoring and performance evaluations.
He/she will be responsible for budget management for the domain.
Acquire the necessary computers, equipment and tools to enable their subordinates to perform their work.
Generate training plans for subordinates based on the program and company needs.
The manager is expected to provide their group with regular information from the company and organizational status, management of the project status and execution and provide coaching to direct employees.

Responsible for ISM management as part of the management of staff members, their work and workplace.
Responsible for the management of information security as part of the normal management of the business. Must cooperate with the Company ISM professionals in implementing the information security policies within the Company and ensures that information is handled in compliance with the Global ISM related regulations.
Interprets, enforces and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.
Scope and Competency Requirements
PROBLEM-SOLVING/KNOW HOW: (complexity of problems and education/experience & other knowledge required)
Four-year College Degree in at least one STEM major (Science; Technology; Engineering; Math) and a minimum of three (3) years of experience; or a minimum of six (6) years of customer facing, electronics product life cycle management experience.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows-based databases as appropriate to the position and assignment.
ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS:
Must have a strong technical background in product development.
Preferred experience with camera and/or wireless communication product development.
Must have the ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
Must successfully complete any training or certification courses required to support or strengthen position.
Must have the ability to read, interpret, and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
