GENERAL SUMMARY
Operate and support the facilities preventive and corrective maintenance program, work to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards including compliance within the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide hands on maintenance, repair and calibration support to best meet business needs.
• Support new equipment installation and qualification within the facility.
• Be the liaison for approved service providers to support preventative and corrective maintenance as well as equipment requalification/calibration.
• Custodian of the Alarm Management System infra-structure and response to GMP and non-GMP infra-structure related alarms.
• Periodic requalification of current equipment and systems which will require work under GMP conditions including entry into classified clean rooms.
• Support of the Manufacturing and Quality Control (QC) Departments including investigations and problem-solving involving equipment and the facility support infra-structure.
• Expert resource for the Building Management (BMS) and the Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS). Review of system generated data to ensure compliant performance of systems.
• Execute job related documentation and perform own tasks and those of service providers to required cGMP standards following company systems and procedures.
• Ensure the responsible behavior of self, co-workers and service providers to ensure appropriate health, safety and environmental performance is observed at all times.
• Ensure appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and participate in their review and update as well as for other related systems and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED and 3 – 5 years’ experience in a cGMP maintenance or engineering role (biotech or pharmaceutical industry preferred)
• Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, and highly motivated.
• Through understanding of utility equipment and applications such as air handlers, chillers, humidifiers, HVAC, pipefitting, sterilizers, stills, electronic, electromechanical, air and temperature applications.
• Building Automation or Building Alarm systems (BAS) experience a plus
• Good understanding of Metrology practices a plus
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Ability to follow written instructions and document work accurately and clearly

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. A large amount of the work is completed in a cleanroom environment. While working in the area the gowning requirements are safety glasses, shoe covers, hood, gown, mask boots and gloves. Working conditions can include standing for long periods of time.
