Job Description:
Role: Senior Product Designer
Location: Remote
Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer who is comfortable with ambiguity and relies on curiosity, empathy and asking questions to gain deep insights into our users to deliver products they love. This person will have experience developing strong design approaches and bring hands-on skills to add the “human touch” to transform applications used by internal staff. The ideal candidate will keep the user at the center of everything they do working across the design process from discovery to delivery. Working collaboratively with a cross-functional team of product managers and engineering to experiment, innovate and solving complex problems and delivering simple, functional, and elegant user experiences.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and user teams to identify user and business needs and translate them into engaging simple, and intuitive design solutions.
• Lead design workshops with users, stakeholders, development team and other designers
• Work closely with product to define questions and areas of interest prior to developing research initiatives
• Design, coordinate, and run moderated and unmoderated studies at all stages from discovery to validation to understand user needs and identify opportunities.
• Communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale effectively both verbally and visually
• Design engaging solutions based on analytics and user research engagements
• Work effectively through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product/feature definition.
• Creating process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps and interaction models, resulting in low to high fidelity prototypes.
• Present design work for review and feedback.
• Partner with the Product Manager to inform product strategy
• Mentor and educate more junior designers using hands on demonstrations and guidance through research initiatives
• Contribute to the team’s shared knowledge of user-centered design, research methodologies, and tools maintained in a central research repository.
Experience
Minimum Qualifications
• 6-10 years’ experience or portfolio demonstrating an equivalent in UX design, and with design tools and methods.
• Knowledge of industry leading interactive standards including UX, graphic, and web design.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Well organized, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
