Entry Requirements:
Applicants should have: –
(a) a Hong Kong bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in a science subject;
(b) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. (Note: “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);
(c) minimum 3 years’ full-time relevant post-qualification working experience, including at least 2 years’ full-time relevant post-qualification working experience in project management and at least 1 year’s full-time relevant post-qualification in administrative work.; and
(d) good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
Duties:
The Emission Inventory and Modeling Section under the Mobile Source Group of the Air Policy Division is working on vehicle emission measurements and modeling. The successful candidate will be required to: –
(a) supervise the contractors for conducting vehicle emission modeling and measurement related projects;
(b) consolidate the spending status of the section and Mobile Source Group;
(c) prepare tender documents and follow up other procurement procedures;
(d) manage and check the inventory; and
(e) liaise with various government departments and contractors for the construction of the vehicular evaporative emission measurement facility.
Other Job-related Requirements: (a) The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. The successful candidate may be required to (i) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; and (ii) work outside office including outdoors. (b) The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs but will not exceed 17.5 hours per week. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.
Fringe Benefits
The candidate is not entitled to any fringe benefit normally applicable to a full time staff under the Employment Ordinance (including but not limit to 14-day paid annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity / paternity leave and sickness allowance, etc.), unless the employment undertaken by the employee for the Government constitutes a “continuous contract”. No gratuity will be granted at the end of the contract period.
