CNA Search Looking for Business Intelligence Engineer at Lawrenceville, GA Full Time

CNA Search is seeking a talented Business Intelligence Engineer for a growing client. Our client is moving towards Emerging Technologies and growing fast. 

Essential Duties: The duties listed below are the essential functions of this position and they may change as the needs of the company demand. All associates are expected to do what is necessary to get the work done and to cooperate fully with their supervisor as requests for additional or altered duties.

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Leverage Sisense to utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Create data tools for Business Intelligence team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and 3^rd party vendors to deliver upon business requirements and bug resolution.
• Provide technical leadership to other members of the Business Intelligence Team.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware software and other network and system problems for the business intelligence platform.
• Ensure network capacity and uptime by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with the DevOps team on environment optimization for the business intelligence platform.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Work closely with members of Development QA and Operations to pro-actively identify potential issues and fix existing problems as well as perform root cause analysis.
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

Education/Technical Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in areas such as computer science engineering or information systems.
• 5+ years of experience as BI Engineer, Web Developer, or Data Engineer.
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
• Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
• Experience with popular BI tools such as Sisense, Tableau, PowerBI, Grafana, etc.
• Experience with cloud data services, such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake, etc.
• Must have experience writing code in one or more of the following languages:
  • T-SQL
  • PowerShell
  • Ansible
• Preferred experience writing code in one or more of the following languages:
  • .NET
  • JavaScript
  • Python
  • R
• Preferred experience in ETL development, data warehousing, and cloud data solutions.
• A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
• Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
