Java/AWS Solutions Architect

• Location: Owings Mills, MD
• *3 days in office will be required starting in October. (Optional 2 days remote)

Sr/Lead Architect to join a team of talented Architects in bringing strategic thinking & innovative approaches to drive forward the Global Business.

• Understands and advocates architecture principles and articulates value proposition of architecture to business and technology partners
• Develops architectural strategy for a given domain and develops/implements the mechanisms vital to ensure that the strategy is realized
• Ensures decisions around architecture are made in alignment with defined strategies and deviations from standards are accurately identified, addressed, and communicated
• Provides mentorship to the Senior Architects in the early planning stage around the different solution patterns that may be appropriate for a specific solution
• Ensures that standards set by Data, Security, Infrastructure, Platform and other architecture domains are followed when crafting solutions
• Stays abreast of industry trends
• Operates as a hands-on architecture practitioner, delivers within a team as an individual architect
• Balances strategic and pragmatic concerns when solving sophisticated or multifaceted problems
• Uses appropriate influence to drive business priorities and navigate across boundaries – Influences key decisions, based on depth of knowledge
• Uses a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment to simultaneously make decisions that address client needs and achieve business objectives with the appropriate level of risk
• Builds an environment of intellectual curiosity and innovation that encourages balanced results and risk taking

Required:

• BS/MS degree in a technical subject area and typically 8+ years of progressive professional experience
• Experience programming proficiently in several languages and is comfortable switching between them (Java preferred)
• Experience with architecting cloud native solutions (AWS preferred) or migrating on-prem solutions to cloud
• Exposure to the latest web and mobile technologies/frameworks such as Angular, React, Node, TypeScript, etc.
• Exposure and working experience with Salesforce Platform or Adobe Products helpful
• Exposure and working experience with Modern Data Integration & Pipelining approaches helpful
• Exposure to ML & Data Science helpful
• Designs and architectures show consideration for the operational aspects of a system, long-term supportability, maintenance, etc. Extends the Shelf life of software.
• Innovates and leads explorations into new areas and new technologies within the company but also with other industry leaders
• Able to produce results through individuals and teams where there is no direct strategic direction of resources
• Able to overcome differences of opinion and drive team alignment around a specific goal or solution
