EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Needs to be able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, work rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Needs to be able to properly complete travelers for all jobs performed. Needs to be able to communicate effectively with fellow team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Needs to be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Needs to be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus. Must be capable of calculating bend allowances and performing other mathematical calculations as required. Needs to be able to read calipers, protractor, height gauge, square and tape measure.
REASONING Needs to be able
Needs to be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Needs to be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License to be licensed as a qualified lift truck driver at DeWys Manufacturing, Inc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand and walk. Team member will be required to reach with hands and arms and to use hands to finger, handle or feel parts. Team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and frequently move over 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distant visions (clear vision at 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more). Peripheral vision (Needs to be able to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point). Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, Needs to be able to judge distance and spatial relationships).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud requiring hearing protection to be worn at all times. Welding helmets must be worn at all times when performing welding operations. While performing grinding operations, appropriate masks must be worn. Safety glasses must also be worn at all times by team members. Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demands and is able todeal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.
