About your role:
Working in a supportive team environment, you will use your training and skills to implement therapeutic interventions to children/youth in the school system. You will serve as a liaison, advocate, and coordinator of other service offerings to better the student’s chances for ongoing success in the school. You will work closely with students, their families, schools, and other service providers to ensure a supportive and therapeutic environment. This position follows the school schedule, allowing great work/life balance. A summer program may be available to work in some regions.

- Registered with the VA Board as Qualified Mental Health Professional – Children (QMHP-C) or Trainee (QMHP-T)

- QMHP- C: Human Service approved Bachelor’s Degree and 1500 hours of direct work with kids who have a mental health diagnosis
- QMHP-C: Human Service approved Master’s Degree and 500 hours of direct with kids who have a mental health diagnosis
- QMHP-T: Approved human service degree (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Special Education, Human Development, etc)
- A flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and crisis response to our clients.
Virginia requires all direct care mental health professionals to register with the VA Board of Counseling, showing the education and experience necessary to work with clients. If you graduate with an approved degree (ex: Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Human Services, Human Development, etc), you are eligible to register as a QMHP Trainee. Once you have 1500 hours of work experience, you can update your registration to be QMHP C (Child) or QMHP A (Adult). This role offers experience to become QMHP-C!
