Gables Search Group Looking for Python Software and DevOps Engineer at San Francisco, CA Full Time
We are seeking a Python Software and DevOps Engineer to accelerate R&D team engineering productivity through test automation and cloud-based DevOps practices. Provide flexible, innovative technologies and services to verify correct system behavior during test and to validate system requirements during design. Be able to separate test design and implementation: allow SW and Algo/System designers to concentrate on developing test requirements, test planning, and test case design, while test designers deploy and execute automated SW build and test scripts to implement an application-independent testing framework that both technical and non-technical testers can use.
This role reports to the VP of Engineering and operates closely with SW and HW development teams. The successful individual must be self-motivated and have the ability to proactively see what needs to be done.
Location: Prefer local Bay Area resident but fully remote ok
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Python development. • CI/CD pipeline design and implementation. • Design quality gates and develop test automation. • Prepare web-based reports, populate dashboards, and provide documentation updates. • Identify and record bugs.
MUST HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS
• Strong knowledge of Python and Linux (experience in other programming languages will be considered as a plus, with a strong preference for C/C++). • Debian packaging, pip packages, deployment automation, configuration management. • Strong knowledge of Jenkins, Gitlab or any other CI system. • Shell scripting. • Experience with AWS Cloud platform .
• Interpersonal skills and appreciation of other people’s work discipline within a startup environment. • Fluency in English.
SHOULD HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS
• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject. • Hands-on experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes is a plus. • Development experience with Linux platforms.
NICE TO HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS
• MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject. • Experience with HTML5, CSS, web services (SOAP and REST), XML. • Experience with cloud-based CI systems, such as Azure Pipelines, AWS CodeBuild, or Google Cloud Build. • Experience with test frameworks like Robot and JMeter. • Experience with embedded RTOS or embedded Linux systems. • Experience with Windows platform. • Ability to interface with Business Management and customers directly.
