Gables Search Group Looking for Senior Electrical Test Engineer at Winona, MN Full Time

The Senior Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for leading the design and integration of PC based automated test equipment to provide functional testing of automotive components.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with product and manufacturing teams to identify and review test equipment requirements
• Design electrical hardware and write test system software using existing equipment as templates
• Lead integration testing and system debug of assembled test equipment
• Provide installation and start-up assistance at the customer location
• Provide remote troubleshooting support of installed equipment
• Provide accurate cost and schedule estimates for new test equipment
• Ability to mentor and provide direction to technicians and other team members
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent – Majors in: Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Physics, etc.)
• At least 5-8 years of experience in custom automation, control systems and electrical design and development.

SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates will possess some or all of the following skills:

• Software development experience using C#/VB .NET or LabView
• Electrical schematic development using OrCAD/AutoCAD or similar design package
• Experience with industrial controls including servos, safety components and sensors
• Experience with illumination or vision systems
• Experience with data acquisition systems
• Experience with SQL database development
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Self-motivated and organized, with strong attention to details
• Ability to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision
