The Infrastructure Tech III is a Senior member of the Information Systems department technical staff having direct accountability for life cycle management of the computers, servers, telephony systems, operating systems, networks, management systems, and information security safeguards required to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and ongoing operation of business, administrative, and clinical applications.
Essential Functions:
Monitor and ensure availability of computer, telephony, networking, firewall, server systems and supporting infrastructure
Monitor and ensure availability of applications using servers and networks monitoring systems
Monitor and ensure availability of TCP/IP data network and related security systems
Install and upgrade server based, complex multi-tiered applications
Install and configure SQL based applications and maintenance operations
Make or direct cabling modifications for Ethernet, fiber and serial d-sub systems
Operate and configure peripheral network based devices
Project outline, lead, and management
Installs and validate maintenance and security patches, new system software releases
Perform advanced configuration of routers and switches
Operate and configure advanced back end administration systems for system maintenance
Perform advanced operations and configuration of complex IDS/IPS/Firewall security systems
Perform advanced operations on Voice and PBX systems
Develop and configure advanced batch and command level scripting
Install or upgrade multiple server operating systems and disparate hardware
Evaluate trends and risks to all IT assets sufficient to support recommendations for mitigation
Document operational IT assets and operating procedures
Perform advanced configuration and management tasks with Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
Perform advanced VM deployments with multiple OS systems
Operate and configure advanced wireless infrastructure devices and end points
Work with architect to recommend new concepts and systems
Perform advanced calculations of IPV4 addressing for future networking configurations
Operate and configure advanced centralized desktop delivery systems
Operate and configure advanced DR, BC and recovery systems
Operate and configure advanced centralized printing and faxing systems
Document operational IT assets and operating procedures
Other duties as assigned
Education and Training Requirements:
Server operating system, Security or Network entry level Cert required
Familiarity with basic UNIX operating systems commands and concepts
Familiar with overall computing environments and relationship between devices
Familiar with data recovery concepts and DR/BC strategies
Proficient with presentation and project management software and systems
Deep understanding of technology convergence and impact to business operations
Deep understanding if the inter relationship of computing delivery to business operations
Advanced understanding of software development architectures
CERTIFIED CRITERIA-MUST HAVE ONE CURRENT:
Microsoft – Advanced or equal experience
CompTIA – Professional or equal experience
Cisco – Advanced or equal experience
Security – CHIME, CISSP or internationally recognized or equal experience
Or as determined by IS Director
Min 3 years of server, computer, telephony, and firewall operating system experience
Min 3 years experience with server application deployment
Min 3 years experience with server hardware and peripherals
Min 2 years experience with wireless management systems
Min 2 years cabling experience with UTP Ethernet and d-sub pin-outs
Min 2 years experience with configuring routers and switches
Min 3 years experience configuring advanced wireless systems in a complex wireless infrastructure
Min 3 years experience working in a 24X7 critical operations environment
Min 2 years experience with VMware and Nutanix deployment and operations
Min 1 year experience working with SQL database operations
Min 1 year experience working with advanced security devices – IDS/IPS/Firewall
Min 1 year experience working with DR and BC systems and concepts
Min 1 year experience in preparing documentation for management decisions
Min 1 year experience working with Voice or PBX systems
Healthcare experience a plus
