Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Mogul Operator is responsible for is to safely and efficiently operating production equipment in their assigned area, assuring compliance to all quality, environmental and cost standards. The Mogul Operator will partner with support functions to identify and resolve unplanned downtime events, quality, safety, cost and other losses attributed to the area, using problem solving techniques and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Conducts inspection of and routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Responsible for safely, efficiently and with a focus on our high quality standards operating, maintaining and cleaning the assigned equipment.
- Maintains an understanding of the production schedule for each shift and how it influences the work to be planned for and completed.
- Observes the flow of the line and identifies where help is needed, stepping in to any position to provide support or relieve for breaks.
- Understands the production equipment being used and how to adjust when needed.
- Resolve any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, shortages or deviations from specifications, escalating issues to the Production Supervisor, maintenance or other operators as needed.
- Inspect raw materials, premixes and products to verify conformance to specifications and performs necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
- Ensure the proper raw materials and premixes are used for each product being produced.
- Will have working knowledge and experience with cooking, vacuum, moulding, demoulding, coating and optical sorting operations; watching for machine running and product quality to prevent downtime or defects.
- Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
- Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
- Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, including required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, etc.
- Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
- Trains for and is prepared to support any position on the line, in the assigned area, as needed. Follows the assigned trainings and to complete them on time.

Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years of progressive work experience, with machine operation in the food/beverage/pharma industry preferred.
- Requires an understanding of machine operations and all other production functions.
- Requires computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. SAP a plus.
- Requires skills with using ERP and QMS software
- Requires the development of a working knowledge of food safety and food quality standards and regulations such as SQF and environmental and people based safety practices and regulations along with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Must be flexible with work scheduling as well as overtime.
- Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, work with percentages, and have basic knowledge of algebra as well as make fine adjustments in equipment settings.
- Requires teamwork ability; works well with others and communicates effectively with all associates.
- Requires the ability to train and coach others for success.
