Senior Digital Designer, MillerKnoll

General Purpose

The Senior Digital Designer is a highly skilled and talented professional who uses their expertise in graphic design, UX, UI, and digital media to create relevant, compelling, and user-centric digital content, marketing solutions, and experiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience with creating exceptional design solutions for a wide range of digital touchpoints: website, social platforms, emails, newsletters, and other digital ad, medias, and channels – always with the customer and audience in mind. It is our expectation that you will bring a high level of strategic thinking, problem solving, and design expertise to further the team and our work.

Essential Functions

• Stays abreast of, and utilizes, best digital design practices to inform the work and maximize performance.
• Develops creative strategies for delivering effective and compelling work with consideration to the channel, platform, media to optimize performance, engagement, and experience.
• Interprets brief and editorial plan to develop rich ideas for storytelling.
• Designs and produces digital design work for MillerKnoll’s digital channels, platforms, and advertising and marketing medias.
• Creates beautifully designed and engaging stories utilizing motion, sonic, live action, photography, illustration, and/or graphic elements.
• Utilizes existing page modules or templates for content; identifies improvements or edits to template, when needed.
• Possesses proficient digital and formal design skills.
• Ensures brand consistency across the digital customer touch points.
• Establishes strong working relationships with MillerKnoll brand marketing team, digital team, and the creative studio team.
• Works with digital team and developers to ensure aesthetics also are aligned with usability, accessibility, and web standards.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business and brand objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in visual design, interaction design, and strategic product thinking preferably at a digital agency or corporate in-house team.
• Experience working on a cross-functional design and marketing team.

Skills and Abilities

• Exceptional strategic thinker and design talent with experience in web design, social platforms, digital advertising, media, email design, and motion design. Video experience is a plus.
• Experience with creating powerful editorial designs.
• Demonstrated ability to tell a compelling story.
• Proven work demonstrating effective user-centered design solutions.
• Extensive experience with modern design and prototyping tools.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment.
• Able to deliver actionable and thoughtful feedback to the team and mentor junior designers.
• Experience translating business and creative strategies into effective digital solutions.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and human centered design principles.
• Experience designing for international audiences. Multi-language localization is a plus.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional presentation skills.
• High level of consultative skills.
• Proven ability to explore and analyze complex data and information and generate new ideas and solutions.
• Demonstrated strong time management, problem solving, planning, and organization skills for success in a results-oriented environment. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong understanding of web analytics.
• Proficient in building web comps in Figma using design system libraries, Adobe CC, and Miro.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools.
