What will I be doing?
The Manager Data Governance is a trusted partner within Business Data Owners/Stewards, Analytics, Legal, Privacy, and Technology communities ensuring that policies, processes, and standards are defined and adhered to end-to-end. The position supports all aspects of implementing and delivering Hilton’s data strategy driving Hilton’s business goals and priorities. Bring your data governance knowledge to Hilton!
More specifically, you will:
- Collaborate with the data owners, stewards, information security, privacy, and Technology leadership teams to establish data policies, processes, and standards including enforcement of data quality, security, and management concepts
- Have responsibility for establishing trust in data assets through defining requirements for data quality and ensuring those are carried out in line with defined RACI
- Establish and carry out concepts of Certified data, ensuring it is fully aligned with the Data Classification Standard
- Ensure alignment to data access policies in accordance with Data Classification standards
- Assess available technology for maximum amount of automation leveraging tools such as Informatica IDQ, Enterprise Data Catalog, and Axon Data Governance
- Define and coordinate with members Analytics team and data stewards the data elements critical to the business
- Participate in a development agile team responsible for the validation of datasets ingested into the data lake
- Coordinate engagement with members of primarily the EA&D and the stewardship community to understand requirements support capturing of business metadata, data lineage, data classification and data quality
- Support the creation of a process of proactive problem detection, testing and remediation of data issues

- Interpersonal communicators who will positively influence Hilton’s partners and communicate effectively at all levels
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of work experience in technology
- Five (5) years of experience with data governance and data quality tools
- Experience working with Cloud platforms
- Understanding of standard database and SQL concepts, such as database table design and relationships, and analyzing data using SQL queries
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., advanced formulas, pivot tables)
- Proficiency using BI Tools, including Tableau or MicroStrategy
- Advanced PowerPoint skills; sophisticated presentation skills
It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
- Nine (9) + years of professional experience in Technology or related field
- Seven (7) + years of experience with data governance and data quality tools
- Two (2) + years of experience in leading teams of 1-3 people
- Experience with Data Quality management concepts and tools including IDQ (Informatica Data Quality)
