OVERVIEW

The Information Technology office is responsible for assisting the courts in achieving the Judicial Council’s technology objectives. The office is directly responsible for the development, acquisition, implementation, and support of automated systems in the appellate courts, trial courts and the Judicial Council. This position manages the ongoing technological operational and maintenance support of the Phoenix application.
Senior Drupal Web Developer position in the Digital/Web Services unit provides specialized development support to ensure all JCC-maintained websites, web servers, and applications are operational. Examples of websites under the purview of this position include the Supreme Court; Courts of Appeal, and Courts.ca.gov. In addition to these websites, 20 new trial courts are hosting their Drupal websites on a managed hosting platform at Pantheon, and maintenance of this platform is a key responsibility for this position. The Senior Drupal Web Developer works with minimum supervision and plays a coordinating role with other IT technical teams to ensure network security and operability across the platform.

The successful candidate will be expected to work in the San Francisco or Sacramento office. However, hybrid schedules may be available from a California residence.
RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has a coordinating role with Data Center Operations and Network Security to coordinate patches, upgrades, and configurations and occasionally needs to work on weekends and beyond normal business hours to provide support. The position also attends weekly team meetings and contributes to the overall Digital/Web Services roadmap.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, or directly related field, and five (5) years of design and development experience including solid knowledge and proficiency in the software used in the assignment.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or directly related field may be substituted for one of the years of required experience. An additional four years of professional experience as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
OR
One year as an Application Development Analyst (utilizing the software used in the assignment) with the Judicial Council of California or one year of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of an Application Development Analyst in a California Superior Court or California state-level government entity.
