The Life Sciences Associate Role
Life Sciences is one of our largest practice areas. Across our offices in London, Munich, Paris, and Wroclaw our European Life Sciences practice is growing fast, making this an exciting place to start your career with focus on the Life Sciences industry. Our team members are dedicated to Life Science projects, with a significant proportion having a scientific focus. If you have a Bachelor or Master’s degree with a scientific focus, you can become a vital part of our team in the role of a Life Sciences Associate (LSA).
This entry level role:
LSAs are crucial to the success of L.E.K. Life Sciences project teams. They are responsible for and contribute to projects in many ways
As they gain more experience, LSAs are expected to assume a more active managerial role in overseeing the progress of a project and the work of new Associates.
Developing your Skills
Working as an Associate at L.E.K. provides you with the opportunity to gain a comprehensive foundation in problem solving and decision making. From strategy to finance, marketing to operations, Associates are involved in all aspects of strategic and financial analysis and problem solving across a diverse set of Life Science industry sub-sectors. Our people are exposed to a wide range of business challenges and problem types and learn about new topics (e.g., therapeutic areas, modalities, etc.), which means their learning curve is steeper and the experience broader compared to the consultancy peer group. There is no better or faster way to develop analytical and business leadership skills with focus on Life Sciences.
Training and Development
We operate a very comprehensive training programme: new joiners will have an initial two-week orientation, followed by continuous training sessions in accordance with their seniority and individual development priorities. L.E.K.’s training covers the full range of technical, analytical, strategy, communication, project management & relationship building skills. L.E.K. is committed to the training and development of all employees.
What we are looking for
L.E.K. seeks highly motivated, intellectually curious, and entrepreneurial candidates with backgrounds in biosciences, medicine, biotechnologies and experience or strong interest into economics and business strategy related to Life Sciences. Successful candidates typically possess outstanding academic achievements, are comfortable with quantitative analysis, have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and one other language (preferably German), relevant professional experience and notable extracurricular interests. Fluency in another European language is considered an asset.
