The Financial Wellness Product Manager is responsible for managing the R&D, product management, and delivery functions for the department. The person who excels in this position will leverage technology to ensure that the products offered through third-party partners or internally developed programs support the department’s overall strategy and goals.
Normal Day-to-Day Work * Manages the day-to-day product management and R&D activities for the department. Provides guidance and development to less experienced staff.
- Works with team to understand business needs and requirements for analysis and new product development. Develops strategies and leads technical aspects of implementation.
- Leads market research and analysis of consumer needs and current market trends. Develops products that improve clients’ financial well-being. Completes technical assessments for evaluation of new products and partnership opportunities. Evaluates required investment and ROI associated with implementing.
- Conducts due diligence on potential products, services, and program opportunities, including third-party providers to further drive financial capability among clients.
- Routinely evaluates effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability of existing offerings. Makes recommendations for feature enhancements and implementing changes as needed.
- Recommends methodologies to measure success of offerings and ensures proper tracking and reporting systems are in place. Provides quantitative and qualitative reports to manager on a regular basis.
- Leads QA testing for financial wellness offerings, ensuring accurate and efficient end-user experience and good working order of all systems. Establishes testing procedures; develops and implements testing plans and reports results making recommendations for fixes as appropriate.
- Develops, documents, manages workflows/processes and procedures for all department functions, ensuring all are up-to-date and in accordance with recommended guidelines. Continuously identifies process improvements.
- Manages vendor due diligence function for potential and existing vendors. Alongside the Compliance department, acts as liaison between internal and external stakeholders.
- Stays apprised of new technologies to improve our delivery of financial wellness offerings.
Job Qualifications
Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position. * Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in Personal Finance.
- Experience in product management, supervision, market research and data/ business analysis.
- Demonstrated experience creating and delivering B2C content/ services through various delivery channels, including strong aptitude for technology and electronic delivery of financial services
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks, make decisions and meet deadlines in agile environment.
- Excellent innovative and critical thinking skills. High level of curiosity and willingness to think and learn outside of one’s comfort zone.
- Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
- Travel required sometimes.
