We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to lead our general ledger and content accounting functions at one of the fastest growing online education companies in the world. As a senior leader within the finance organization, you will have the opportunity to work with industry veteran executives who have built a brand known for prestige, creativity, and expertise.
What You Will Do:
Manage the corporate accounting team responsible for the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
Manage the content accounting team responsible for the financial integrity of the MasterClass’s content commitments, assets (capitalization), liabilities (payments), and expenses (amortization).
Lead and participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
Support the accounting and finance team in the preparation of financial statements, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliations
Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
Maintain the companys ASC 926 policy as the business explores new content formats; assist in educating business partners on the impact of new content initiatives on GAAP financial performance
Manage cross-functional relationships with teams outside of Accounting, including those across finance, marketing, product and engineering, and content organizations
About You:
Highly analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Excited to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and own critical decision-making responsibilities to build the team and infrastructure.
Experience with SAAS and content businesses.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
7-10 years accounting experience; Big 4 experience a plus
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of ASC 920 and 926 is a plus
CPA preferred
