The McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation responding to over 7,500 emergency calls per year from five strategically located fire stations. The department is currently staffed daily by a combination of part-time/paid on premise personnel that primarily work 12-hour shifts, full-time (24 hour) Firefighters, Lieutenants and a Battalion Chief. Each station has various numbers of personnel, ambulances and fire equipment based on call volume and need.
MTFPD is located approximately 60 miles Northwest of Chicago in the Northeastern portion of McHenry County. MTFPD is comprised of 7 different Villages and Cities and protects 56 square miles and approximately 50,000 year-around residents.
