Meijer is seeking current students interested in furthering their Human Resources experience with a summer internship opportunity! Join our program to get experience in your field while also learning more about the retail industry and the breadth of career opportunities that support the shopper experience. Your 12-week internship will include interaction with other interns, experts in your area of study, and Meijer senior leadership. In addition, interns will complete a comprehensive project with a subject matter of their choosing aligned with personal interests and field of study concentration. Talent Management: The Talent Management team is responsible for supporting the development, performance, recognition and engagement of Meijer’s team members. The team designs, develops, and delivers training and development programs used by team members and leaders throughout the organization. In addition, the team also oversees programs and processes that enable leaders and team members to assess performance, plan for talent, directly recognize others, and learn about Meijer’s heritage. Total Rewards: The Total Rewards team is responsible for the Compensation, Benefit, Leave and HR Analytics programs and systems at Meijer. Through the implementation and continuous improvement of our HR systems and data, our HR Analytics team enables our entire HR function to deliver a high level of support to our business. In store HR representatives serve an important role as the primary liaison between in store team members and the Corporate Total Rewards team. Talent Acquisition: The Talent Acquisition team is responsible for recruiting for all types of positions across the organization leveraging social media, sourcing tools, and networking events to identify talent. The team partners with business leaders to attract new talent to Meijer and facilitates various aspects of preparing to on-board talent such as relocation and compliance aspects. The team continues to identify new technologies to continuously improve the Meijer recruitment strategy and candidate experience. In store, Human Resource representatives will screen applications, interview candidates, and guide and support them through the on-boarding and orientation process. HR Generalist: The HR Generalist roles span across Corporate, Supply Chain, and Retail, supporting all functional areas. The teams are responsible for partnering with respective business areas in order to execute and deploy business initiatives and special projects. The HR Generalist is the liaison to business partners on organizational design and effectiveness, talent development and learning, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, and employee relations. In store, the Human Resource representatives offers advice on coaching and delivering feedback to team members as well as help in navigating team member questions and concerns. In addition, store HR representative utilize systems, reports, and Center of Excellence resources to identify store needs, gather data, and make recommendations to Operations partners that they support. General Qualifications: Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, Organization Development, or related discipline.
