The Corporate Compliance Manager will manage the corporate compliance staff who drives enterprise compliance programs, initiatives and systems. The Corporate Compliance manager, in collaboration with the Director of Compliance, will engage cross-functionally to support Meijer’s ESG initiatives, partner with Accountable Compliance Officers to continuously develop and sustain the company’s corporate risk and compliance strategy, and oversee select enterprise-wide initiatives, play a key role in establishing an enterprise risk program. The Corporate Compliance Manager will also work collaboratively with our Global Sourcing Office Social Compliance team to guide our teams with engaging suppliers operating in a socially responsible manner. . What You’ll be Doing: Lead critical components of the Corporate Compliance team. Engage cross-functionally to support Meijer’s ESG initiatives, including leading on respective areas of ESG development, reporting and compliance. Play a key role in establishing an enterprise risk management program through setting strategy, developing tactical implementation, executing risk assessments, prioritizing risks and establishing mitigation activities and rhythms. Oversee the management of select enterprise-wide governance Initiatives, including enterprise policies and information management. In collaboration with the Director of Compliance, set policy management strategy and oversee the management of the enterprise-wide governance structure and training for the Code of Ethics, enterprise policies and department specific policies. In collaboration with the Global Sourcing Office, set social responsibility strategy and lead our risk-based program expansion to assist our teams with engaging suppliers operating in a socially responsible manner. Work collaboratively with Global Sourcing Office Social Compliance team to align the program execution to our strategy. Partner with Accountable Compliance Officers to continuously develop and sustain the company’s corporate risk and compliance strategy, focusing on process simplification, risk identification, reporting and mitigation, program enhancements and trend analysis. Support Director of Compliance on social compliance program deliverables. What You Bring with You (Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree, human resources, business, accounting, public administration or specific subject matter for compliance (e.g. law, risk management, audit, food or product safety, healthcare, environment health and safety) CPA, MBA, Juris Doctor or CCEP preferred Certified compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) required within 24 months of appointment to position 10 years experience in compliance related field (e.g. law, risk management, audit, food or product safety, healthcare, environment health and safety) Experience in leading ESG development, reporting and compliance. Experience managing projects indirectly across client and operational organizations, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work to other members of a project team. Ability to clearly communicate complex information. Ability to lead and address diverse groups at all levels of the organization to achieve a culture of regulatory compliance Ability to independently problem solve, analyze and assess, including report production, conducting trend and risk analysis. Experience working across a matrix organization. Office computer skills: able to learn company systems and tools, preference for Microsoft application experience, including SharePoint. Ability to work in a fast-paced legal office and effectively work with time and pressure constraints. . .
