Identifies strategic process improvement opportunities within designated areas of Meijer; applies Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to complex business processes; and implements solutions which provide positive performance and financial impacts. Prepares analyses and presents information on improvement opportunities (and results) to process owners, team leaders, and executives. Works cross functionally across organization to facilitate effective project completion; and may assist in providing Lean Six Sigma training. Provides coaching and mentoring to individuals at the ‘Green Belt’ level on Meijer MCQI/Six Sigma tools and methodologies. . What You’ll be Doing: Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvement in the areas of safety, cost, quality, and delivery. Collaborate and partner with the Corporate Continuous Improvement team to deploy Lean Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement methodologies. Identifying, scoping and prioritizing improvement opportunities within assigned area of responsibility. Provide full project, analysis, and Lean Six Sigma consulting capabilities as needed. Lead cross-functional, complex continuous improvement initiatives that are critical to Meijer long-term strategic goals. Portfolio management and execution of assigned projects, including assigned GB projects, and any enterprise projects. Report on project progress to Champions and other appropriate leadership levels. Identify barriers to project success and solicit help from program champions as needed. Provide time and support to other Process Improvement leaders within Meijer Continuous Improvement Team on a need basis. Provide Six Sigma project (coaching) to project team members, Green Belts and Champions (using Lean Six Sigma methodologies). Facilitate Black Belt and Green Belt training sessions in accordance with Meijer Continuous Quality Improvement (MCQI) approved training materials. Must provide on-site presence and support to establish relationships and to help create employee engagement. Participate in annual planning cycle to develop strategies and financial goals related to the overall business strategy. Other tasks as assigned. What You Bring with You (Qualifications): Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Business preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of LSS experience; 5+ years preferred. Previous Retail, Distribution, and/or Manufacturing experience preferred. Making good decisions based upon a mixture of statistical analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment. Effective leadership and program management skills. Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority. Advanced statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects. Advanced computer skills (Microsoft office, MiniTab, other data analysis and data source applications). Writes clearly and succinctly to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences from Senior Leadership to Team Members. Ability to listen attentively and actively, paying attention to both small nuances & complex situations to determine appropriate process for objective achievement. Ability to work with mathematical constructs and apply statistical concepts. Ability to teach analysis and decision-making regarding complex matters to a diverse team with individual learning styles. Ability to manage projects, to set priorities and goals, and to meet deadlines.
