The Section Chief role is a System-wide role that exists only for Inova Service Lines.
Job Responsibilities
Establish standards/metrics and collaboratively drive outcomes in quality, safety and experience
Build and actuate care models to achieve a seamless system of care, reducing care variation across the system
Contribute to the development of the Service Line through the definition and development of clinical capabilities
Establish the criteria and qualifications to be a member of the Section, promoting active engagement of all team members, including employed and independent physicians
Assist in recruiting, retaining and developing high-quality physicians/providers to join the Division/Section
Participate in identifying, evaluating and implementing growth initiatives
Assist in operating the Section and the Service Line in a fiscally judicious, transparent, and sustainable fashion
Work with outpatient, inpatient, OR, supply chain, etc. leadership to improve operational efficiencies
Work with the Service Line Triad to shape the clinical, research and educational affairs of the Service Line
Regularly attend and contribute to Service Line meetings and activities
Partner with the Inova Foundation to engage grateful patients to support our established priorities
Aligned with and promotes Inova’s mission, vision, values and strategic direction
Stands for and drives excellence
Leads by example, enhancing the Service Line’s reputation and establishing personal and professional credibility within the Service Line, across the healthcare system and within the community
Builds camaraderie and collaboration among the Service Line team to build a comprehensive and exceptional team
