Objective
The 3rd shift Quality Supervisor controls shippable production material and rework if necessary, product that does not meet customer requirements on a daily basis.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinates and manages physical movement and storage of nonconforming product and customer returns and the disposition of such material. This includes coordinating truck and trailer movement, supervising the work of material handlers, as well as operating fork truck and material handling equipment when resources are unavailable.
- Plans General Production labor required to execute inspection, sorting, and rework activities and material handlers to support same activity. This includes review of rework instructions, coordinating the activity and training associates to properly perform the tasks designated in the instructions to ensure material is properly inspected, handled, and dispositioned.
- Manages perpetual/physical inventory of nonconforming product and customer returns by monitoring containment, customer return, and disposition documentation and performing SAP/NORIS transactions to maintain accuracy of inventory. Includes maintaining reports that accurately tracks specific details of this material such as part numbers, quantities, disposition status, and timing of containments and dispositions of material.
- Collaborates with Quality Engineers and Production Supervisors proper instructions and methods to investigate, inspect, rework, or salvage nonconforming product.
- Leads training of the Nemak nonconforming material procedures, proper documentation and transactions of containments as well as disposition of nonconforming material processed and released from containments to production supervisors and quality and materials personnel.
Position Requirements
- Use of measuring gages and tools used to measure features and dimensions on parts
- Use of hand tools used to rework/salvage aluminum castings
- Inventory transaction entry
- SAP experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
