To accompany our rapid development, we are looking for a passionate, motivated, and expert Director, Game Studio to help us manage our nascent live mobile game and launch new campaigns within the PlanetY virtual world as well as expand its scope.

By engaging with our rebel action and strategy games on the virtual & virtuous
PlanetY, players not only have fun but also concretely co-finance climate change mitigation, nature conservation and education NGOs in the real world.

PlanetY is operated by Covidis Private Limited which was founded during the pandemic by three successful serial entrepreneurs, tech & climate investors and author from the gaming, tech and non-profit sectors.

To heal our planet’s climate and biodiversity, we intend to attract 25 million active gamers and bring one billion to climate, biodiversity and local communities projects.

Role & Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for the build-up, oversight and leadership of the Game
Studio including Art, Design, Engineering, and Production for our mobile game and nascent virtual world:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define clear visions for game campaigns design and to communicate “the big picture”, the details, and the nuanced elements needed to bring that vision to life;

• Review and provide feedback of work from concept to completion to ensure quality, technical specifications, best practices, clear systems, and engaging gameplay;

• Design experiments and A/B testing roadmap to adapt the game campaigns and reach product-market fits;

• Communicate a clear and compelling vision in a manner that excites and inspires;

• Co-design the players’ acquisition and subscription plan together with our

Director, Marketing & Revenue Growth;

• As a member of the PlanetY Management Team, work closely with our stakeholders (e.g. game studios, brand partners, influencers, nature solution partners, game development team, PlanetY advisors) as required by our business objectives.

This position will report to the company’s Managing Director.

What we are looking for

• Min. 10 years of relevant work experience plus 2 years of management experience;

• Shipped several game titles (action, strategy, build/farming, arcade preferred) including mobile game(s) – HTML5 / browser exposure is an asset;

• Knows how to create and then A/B test to have the best game campaigns possible that attracts and keeps gamers engaged within budget;

• Knows how to build a mobile game development A-team (i.e. what in-house, what outsourced, what partnered) and can fulfill or back-up each of the key roles her/himself when needed as we grow (Art, Design, Engineering);

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, both as a leader of teams and as a leader of projects – dynamic, strategic and resourceful;

• Be a skilled communicator who can comfortably work at all levels of the organization, adapting your communication style to the target audience;

• Previous exposure to Web3 and Crypto is an asset;
• Previous entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial experience is an asset;
• Genuine interest in thriving biodiversity, climate change mitigation, and/or people education is an asset;
• Fluent in English;
• Based anywhere (i.e. mainly remote).
