Job Summary:

The mission of Raytheon’s Engineering Prototyping & Fabrication Department (also known as the Bike Shop) is to provide rapid and innovative engineering solutions to support needs from concept through test. We also provide quick-turn design, fabrication, assembly, and test capabilities in support of program engineering needs. The Bike Shop is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a broad background in electrical engineering, with a strong background as a circuit designer. Job tasking will include taking a concept sketch and turning it into a functioning prototype, with an ability to determine the right level of rigor. Familiarity with all aspects of circuit design and manufacture will be beneficial. This position within the Engineering Prototyping & Fabrication Department is hardware integration intensive that will require you to be onsite daily . This position may require work in closed areas at various locations within the Tucson area

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Hands on involvement with hardware
• Rapid reaction prototyping
• Involvement with product lifecycle from concept development to test
• Working in a vertically integrated environment of many disciplines
• Mentoring of junior engineers
• Management of projects of varying scope and duration

Qualifications You Must Have:

• A bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Eight (8) or more years of related work experience
• Experience using electronic design automation (EDA) software such as Altium or equivalent
• Experience designing digital, analog, or mixed signal Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA)
• Experience using PSpice or LTSpice and implementing high speed digital designs
• Experience developing requirements for electronic interfaces and sub-assemblies

Qualifications We Value:

• Masters or Ph.D. degree in STEM
• Programming/understanding of VHDL source code and FPGA code simulation
• Experience with electrical fabrication techniques
• Experience taking a design from concept, through design, fabrication, integration, and testing
• Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as RS-422, USB, PCIe, etc.
• Experience with signal integrity of digital signals including grounding and shielding techniques
• Working knowledge in the integration of computer hardware interfaces
• Working knowledge of configuration management principles, environments, and tools
• Documentation utilizing Mentor Graphics and BluePrint
• Experience with MATLAB
• Cross-discipline engineering knowledge and experience
• Experience with intellectual property creation (patents & publications)
• Experience with program transition from development to production
• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
• Ability to develop and manage cost/schedule/technical plans including management of risk and opportunities
• Experience working in a Matrix organization comprised of multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects with rigorous design disciplines
• Ability to prioritize the work of others and handle multiple tasks at a time
• Team and technical mentoring skills
• A strong advocate for process improvement
