Rolls-Royce Electrical (RRE) is responsible for developing world class electrical technologies and products, as well as the associated integrated power generation and propulsion turnkey systems. RRE is rapidly extending the company’s capability in the electrical domain and will play an increasingly important role in all our businesses as we move forward towards our Net Zero goal.)
Key Accountabilities:
Advice the functions (e.g. Purchasing, Engineering) to develop an understanding of the impact of export regulations on the business as a whole and ensure compliance.
Liase and support RR strategic partners and JV´s on Export Control.
Monitor and keep up to date the export regulations of all countries with which RRE conducts business.
Identify opportunities to influence export legislation and work with the Local Export Control Experts and the Director of Strategic Export Control to provide expertise to the legislative process.
Develop an organisational understanding of export control regulations, including the classification of goods (technology/hardware/software) as well as provide general and organisation-specific training and communication on export control.
Develop and implement strategies for export control compliance in line with the needs of the organisation and corporate export control compliance policies.
Determine which export authorisations the organisation requires, prepare, submit applications and ensure that processes are in place to comply with the provisions of the authorisation.
Lead or participate in Integrated Project Teams across all functions and all geographical RR locations addressing export control issues.
Develop and conduct Audits within RR.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in business law or comparable skills with a minimum of 4-year work experience
Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant EU/UK/US export control laws and regulations
Ability to analyse complex business situations and to advise on the impact of export control regulations
Ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical processes for export control compliance
Relevant experience on similar position
Possess skills required to assimilate new developments and to prioritise, plan and carry out work in a timely manner.
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure. Creative approach to problem solving and identification of opportunities
Well-developed interpersonal skills to deal with staff at all levels within Rolls-Royce Government Departments and external contacts
Good verbal and written communication skills
Very good command of English, both written and spoken
