Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Charge Capture Analyst is responsible for supporting all of the CMMC, JCMC, and SBMC outpatient practices in the revenue cycle functions such as Epic Work Queues, Medaptus Work Queues, Denials/Appeals, and Epic Tier 2 issues to ensure clean claims are submitted and any edits are corrected in a timely fashion to ensure that expected revenues are collected. Identifies, analyzes and reconciles billing errors or omissions. Previews patient account records and third party payer issues.

Essential Functions:

• Reviews assigned Epic Referral Work Queues daily to ensure no charges/claims remain on hold by addressing the following items (to include, but not limited to:
• Correcting claims
• Searching for requested medical records in the hospital system and uploading to them to the patient s EHR
• Updating patient information such as address, insurance information, insurance ID, codes, dates of service, and date of birth
• Adding modifiers, referring providers, etc.
• Tier 2 patient call follow-up answering any inquiries
• Update all insurance pending with correct insurance plan
• Sorts the past due self-pay que, cross referencing STAR – hospital registration system to confirm payer information is updated, and then updating insurance profiles in CPM.
• Review Medatpus Work Queues daily to ensure all charges transferred from Epic CPM to Medaptus. Makes necessary corrections to charges entered by the physician and export clean claims. Ensure exported claims interface to CPM system. Address suspended charges as needed.
• Enters and reconciles charges for visit and treatment and releases accounts. Verify every patient has an E&M level of care, procedure and supplies.
• Responsible for timely correction made on all encounters that are missing charges or need corrections.
• Responsible for follow-up on missing physician documentation and unsigned notes.
• Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly charge reconciliation of assigned practices for providers.
• Responsible for supporting hospital charge capture and revenue improvement initiatives.
• Understands the importance of Communication and follows up with electronic and voice messages to/from staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of patients information at all times.
• Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of medical terminology, ask questions to clarify misunderstandings.
• Assist Manager with special projects needed.
• Supports and enhances the compliance efforts of the medical group by adhering to the regulatory, departmental and organizational guidelines relating to charging for services
• Other duties as needed

Job Requirements:

• Experience in revenue cycle, patient billing, charge capture, and billing and reimbursement knowledge required.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of practice billing experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required within one (1) year of hire. Candidates who do not possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent at time of hire will be provided the opportunity to enroll in a GED/HSEA program as a condition of employment. New hires will be provided one (1) year from date of hire to successfully complete a GED program and obtain their HSEA.
• Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Effective communication, analytical, organizational skills.

Hours :

Monday – Friday, 8:45am – 5:15pm

Hours are subject to change based on business needs
