Stone Search Looking for Senior Recovery Engineer – 100% Remote or Hybrid / Onsite at Woodbury, NY Full Time

Candidates may be 100% remote central or east coast. 

Our client, an MSP, is seeking a Senior Recovery Engineer who will be part of a team responsible for technical implementation and testing of our client’s recovery strategies across North American client base. Team members work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment as part of an elite group of recovery experts on whom the success and sustainability of their clients’ businesses rely.  This individual must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, take initiative, be a self-learner and manage multiple initiatives concurrently. 
 
Key Job Responsibilities include:

• Technical on-boarding, implementation and testing of off-site vaulting and replication/recovery solutions for clients. This consists of VMware and Networking tasks.
• Recovery testing of client environments at client’s data centers
• Provide technical support for the recovery environment and its use for clients who subscribe to recovery services
• Guidance and point of escalation for NOC Level 1 and Level 2 engineers
• Microsoft patch management using ConnectWise Automate
• Documentation writing to provide knowledge for the rest of the team
• Cross-training Disaster Recovery Team members.

Work Experience/Skills Required:

• Expert experience with building VMWare environments along with networking experience.
• 10+ years of professional, hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting VMware in mid- to large-scale environments
• 15+ years hands-on experience in implementing and troubleshooting MS Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange
• Expert experience with troubleshooting Active Directory, Microsoft DNS, Microsoft Patching
• Experience with ConnectWise products, Manage and Automate.
• Experience with being a security focus engineer, keeping security a high priority and learning about new security-based events that are out in the world
• Expert experience with PowerShell and other scripting tools for automation
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 switching and IP routing
• Cisco IOS experience is a plus
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn quickly
• Good customer service skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education Required:

• VMWare Certification or equivalent work experience is required
• Network Certification is a plus. 
• 4 year degree in Computer Science, Engineering OR equivalent work experience
• MS Certified Systems Engineer a plus
