Job SummarySam Schwartz, a TYLin Company, is seeking a motivated Transportation Engineer for our growing Washington DC office. The selected candidate will participate in a variety of transportation projects including multimodal safety analysis, traffic modeling and operations, traffic engineering design, curbside management and planning for large scale special events. This role may report to the General Manager or other Washington DC market leader.Responsibilities & Qualifications
Performing traffic operations and safety analyses
Reviewing and analyzing crash statistics
Conducting site visits and field observations
Data analytics
Operations plan for large scale special events such as Presidential Inauguration, sporting events, 1st Amendment Activities, etc.
Preparing roadway concept plans
Preparing work orders
Problem solving
Report writing and developing presentation materials
Qualifications:
A BS or MS degree in civil or transportation engineering
2-5 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning in a non-academic environment, preferably in the Washington DC Metro Area
EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Knowledge of MUTCD and standard traffic engineering software (such as HCS, Synchro) preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, GIS, CAD (MicroStation preferred), and Adobe Illustrator
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work independently
Authorized to work in the US

Sam Schwartz, a TYLin Company, is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range for this position, $75,000-$112,600 annually.
