A nonprofit organization on Long Island is currently seeking an experienced Data Analyst for a promising Remote position with their growing staff. Responsibilities:
The Data Analyst (Remote):
Helps business users create optimal business requirements by exploring data and analytic alternatives and guiding users to the most cost-effective and efficient approach to meeting their needs.
Translates internal/external client business requirements into actionable instructions for meeting client needs.
Designs analytics (reports, dashboards, models) to respond to very complex requests.
Develops advanced quantitative approaches (drawing on a range of methodologies) to address client needs.
Performs strategic data mining and research to identify opportunities for improvement and otherwise support business needs.
Creates documentation (such as code detail, report specifications, narrative backup, and metadata) for all outputs.
Works on projects that will leverage advanced analytic approaches, including regression analysis, ROI measurement, predictive modeling, machine learning, and more.
Performs other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
1+ year of hands-on experience with SAS
Bachelor’s Degree in an Analytical, Technical, and/or Scientific field (Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Machine Learning, Statistics, Public Health)
Strong experience with Data Management, Analytics, programming and/or tool
Experience with advanced queries and data structures
Programming or scripting skills in SQL, Python or R,
Experience with Data management tools (e.g., SAS, Matillion, Python)
Experience with BI visualization tools and reporting packages (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ideal)
Microsoft Office Suite proficient
Solid problem solving and time management skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills:
Statistical Programming experience in SAS, R, or SPSS
Hands-On ETL experience
Specific Healthcare experience or knowledge of: Quality Measures; Payors; Electronic Health Records; Patient Self-Reported Data; and, CMS/Medicare/Medicaid requirements
