A New York City nonprofit organization is looking to add a new System Engineer (Hybrid) for a promising opportunity with their growing staff. In this role, the System Engineer (Hybrid) will be responsible for the design realization, technical management, operation and retirement of all systems, as well as new integrations.
Responsibilities: The System Engineer (Hybrid) will:
Evaluate and optimize the organization’s systems, including enterprise Cloud Infrastructure (i.e. AWS)
Provision new capabilities in AWS and Azure with future proofing design
Optimize & maintain connectivity between Active Directory and OKTA
Spearhead the decommissioning of legacy data center Windows Server OS, Hardware and Windows Shared Folders, through usage analysis and transition plans to G Suite Enterprise and other purpose built solutions
Partnership with Security and Networking teams to design and support Certificate based Wireless Infrastructure and deployment to all mobile hardware platforms
Produce documentation of systems architecture, processes and policies for dissemination amongst the Technology department and partners
Administer and maintain existing device management frameworks, integration, and identity management solutions.
Reviews and applies security patching best practices & performs proactive performance monitoring and tuning
Analyzes and provides options to optimize the current systems infrastructure.
Preps environments for staging and production
Plans and designs new deployments.
Manage Windows Workstation & Server configurations, virtualization (HyperV), security patches, and applications
Manage entire lifecycle of Linux/Unix Systems (i.e. Apple Mac OS/iOS)
Provide support to Senior Network Engineer for VPN connectivity via VPN clients, RSA token and 2FA
Supports Gmail configuration and mailbox management including email routing, spam filtering and forensics
Serve as final point of escalation for systems troubleshooting and issue resolution
Support business continuity plans and site readiness
Maintain systems backup integrity, and regularly conducts stress testing and data restoration tests
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
6+ years of Technical Support experience in an Enterprise environment
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Technology or related field
Professional Certifications: Cisco CCNA, MS MCSE, MCITP, Security+ and/or Network+, JAMF CCT, CCA, or CCE, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Comprehensive knowledge and hands on experience with Windows OS, Mac OS, Chrome OS, Active Directory, Google Admin, Okta, Workday, Jamf, AWS, Azure, and other SaaS enterprise cloud-based services
Familiarity with Networking Layers, Concepts and Protocols (DNS, DHCP, UDP, TCP), as well general wireless concepts
In depth experience with operating endpoint management tools including Apple DEP and JAMF Pro/Cloud, as well as Windows Server and Workstation
Experience using IT Service Management software to manage projects and tasks
Proficiency with scripting in Powershell, BASH or Python
Solid problem solving and time management skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
