Our Trust & Safety team’s commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

The Trust & Safety Policy team develops and reviews our community policies to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our Users and Content Creators to enjoy and express themselves.

As a Policy Training Development Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining training material related to our content policies, to support the training of TikTok’s content moderators across the globe. You will work very closely with Trust & Safety’s Policy subject matter experts, regional policy teams, and additional stakeholders in Ops teams, to identify training needs and address them through creating, implementing and maintaining effective training solutions.

You will provide train-the-trainer sessions, facilitate learning events and organize instructor-led and e-learning activities. You will be able to create effective content policy training material, deliver policy training and present the updates in a clear, professional, and concise manner in both oral and written forms.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.

Some content viewed may violate our community guidelines which include but are not limited to bullying; hate speech; child abuse; sexual assault; torture; bestiality; self-harm; suicide; murder.

What will I be doing?

• You will partner with internal stakeholders in Policy and Ops to develop effective training material
• You’ll deliver instructor-led training, conduct train-the-trainer sessions.
• Adapt the learning content to address the identified training needs and align with the desired performance outcome
• You’ll apply your knowledge of adult learning theory to identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on organizational influencers, course content, and desired performance outcomes
• You shall create training plans and strategies utilizing various learning methodologies and technology (online live training sessions, safe-paces eLearning courses, online and blended learning solutions)
• Collaborate with the policy team to understand and deliver policy updates, work closely with the quality team to identify struggling areas that should be addressed through learning solutions

• Bachelor’s degree with equivalent 3+ years of practical experience in creating, developing, and delivering training programs
• You have a background in content moderation, policy development or trust & safety is a plus
• You have knowledge and understanding of adult learning concepts and methods
• Advanced computer and internet skills, experience with LMS platforms is preferred
• Excellent planning and organization skills, ability to independently manage multiple small to medium scale training projects from initiation to delivery
• Excellent written & oral communication skills, public speaking, presentation skills, and overall interpersonal skills
• You have the ability to adapt to business needs and work in a fast-paced environment
• You have experience working with international partners across different time zones and cultures
