About your new role
In this role you will be working in a fast-paced environment responsible for providing quality HR advice, practical support, and guidance to managers across all aspects of HR and the employee lifecycle.
Supporting our Recreation & Leisure business, you will assist our people managers with queries relating to policies & procedures, recruitment, people development, employee relations (including case management) and advice in line with relevant legislative instruments.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this role will provide you with an opportunity to work on a range of HR projects and initiatives across the full HR offering within a supportive team environment.
About you
With your service orientated approach, drive and motivation to succeed, you will be an operational partner that collaborates and supports the business to drive people initiatives, engagement, and a high-performance culture. You have excellent judgement and strong analytical skills demonstrating the ability to calmly negotiate and influence.
When dealing with sensitive interpersonal situations, you can demonstrate empathy whilst maintaining conviction around organisational priorities / requirements.
You ll have advanced knowledge of general Human Resources principles, policies, and practices displaying the ability to coach and guide managers on the full range of people management matters. You thrive in finding new ways to work and setting up systems and processes.
You will be a positive, can-do person, who takes problems as a learning experience. You will be comfortable being hands on, providing feedback to others and enjoy working on a range of activities. This includes but it not is not limited to policies & procedures, recruitment, employee relations, coaching of frontline leaders, performance management and reviews, reporting and support in implementing projects and HR initiatives.
You ll also have:
• Previous experience in a generalist HR role (Essential).
• Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Integrity and professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information.
• Ability to establish strong and collaborative working relationships.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team.
• Ability to maintain resilience through change and challenge
• A tertiary qualification in HR and a sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act.
• Maintaining and supporting initiatives to improve employee engagement
• Ability to identify the root cause of an issue and provide solutions to overcome
